COUNTRY Financial® Employees and Interns Tackle Big Ideas at Annual Hackathon

At COUNTRY Financial®, innovation isn’t confined to job descriptions—it’s a mindset. That spirit came to life at this year’s annual Hackathon, where more than 20 teams had the opportunity to step away from their usual routines and dig into big ideas that could make a lasting impact on how we work and serve our clients.

Held at Heartland Community College’s Agriculture Complex in Normal, Illinois, the three-day event gave teams space to explore emerging technologies and tackle challenges in areas like efficiency, client service, and internal collaboration. With no predefined solutions and no limits on creativity, teams built early proof-of-concepts—some of which could inform future advancements at COUNTRY.

Judges recognized several standout ideas for their creativity, feasibility, and business potential. But even beyond the awards, the Hackathon reflected what happens when employees are empowered to think differently.

“It’s exciting to see how fast teams can innovate when you give them the freedom to focus, experiment, and build,” said Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Adam Garey. “By making space for innovation, we’re fostering an environment where bold thinking and transformative technology can thrive.”
