With vibrant hot air balloons painting the Carson Valley skies, this year’s Hot Air for Hope Balloon Festival soared beyond spectacle—delivering a powerful message of safety, support, and community connection. Aligned with the COUNTRY Vision to enrich lives in the communities we serve, the event was a celebration of unity, hope, and the shared commitment to making a meaningful difference.
As a major sponsor and participant in the annual event, COUNTRY brought national attention to wildfire safety by sponsoring the beloved Smokey Bear balloon, a giant symbol of fire prevention and a floating reminder of the importance of preparedness. Managed by the Friends of Smokey Bear Balloon organization, this balloon is seen by more than 258 million people annually, tethered in parks and featured in media across the country.
But the company’s involvement went far beyond the balloon. Reps Rhonda Moore and Jim Gray of the Northern Nevada District presented a $2,800 donation to the East Fork Fire Protection District for the purchase of a rescue lifter. This vital piece of equipment is designed to assist in the evacuation of fire emergency victims.
“These brave first responders do so much for our community, the least we can do is give back and help them in their lifesaving work,” said Moore. “We help people prepare for and recover from the unexpected. That’s why it’s such a natural fit for us to work with area first responders who are often key partners in caring for people, families, and businesses impacted by catastrophes.”
For Jim Gray, of the Jim Gray Agency, supporting the event is about more than visibility—it's about heart. “It is a great event for families of this community to enjoy,” he said. “Proceeds of the event go to the Center for Hope and Healing, which helps grieving families to cope in their time of need.”
The balloon festival, which has become a beloved annual tradition, continues to draw crowds of all ages for its vibrant display and community-driven mission. “Watching this community event grow has been phenomenal,” added Moore. “The smiles created are feel-good moments. We are very honored to be a part of this event from inception and hope to continue our relationship for many years to come.”
Hot Air for Hope was a beautiful example of the many facets of COUNTRY marketing that exist coming together to support reps, grow business, and truly enrich lives in the communities we serve,” said Crystal Phillips, Senior Strategic Marketing Specialist.
With a clear focus on giving back, raising awareness, and strengthening local partnerships, the company’s role in the Hot Air for Hope Festival proves that when community, compassion, and colorful balloons come together—everyone rises.
